Over 50 shades, plus custom Pantone matching if you've got a specific brand colour to hit. Metallic finishes (gold, silver, rose gold) are the most requested, though they do show handling marks a little more easily than the solid colours something worth knowing if the cards will be passed around a lot at events.
You'll want 400gsm at minimum, and honestly the effect reads best on thick painted edge business cards closer to 600gsm there's simply more edge surface for the colour to sit on. Thinner stock can still be painted, but the strip ends up looking more like a pinstripe than a bold edge.
